Anatomy III - Cellular and Molecular Anatomy
Central to the research activities in the Institute of Cellular and Molecular Anatomy (Institute of Anatomy III) of the Dr. Senckenbergische Anatomie is the analysis of structure and function of the mammalian brain, with investigation methods spanning from classical descriptive morphology to the investigation of stimulus-induced plasticity, and to cellular and sub-cellular molecular mechanisms in neurons.
The institute participates at all lectures and courses of macroscopic and microscopic anatomy, neuroanatomy, and embryology, which are part of the curriculum for students in medical science and dentistry.
Within the E-learning project ‘fanatomic’ as part of FAUST (grouping of all electronic teaching offers within the medical faculty) a concept is structured for the integration of anatomical knowledge into an online learning platform, accessible for students and tutors.
